Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Forestry (LDAF)
LDAF regulates industrial hemp production, handling, and processing of non-consumable hemp products. It does not regulate Louisiana’s medical marijuana dispensaries.
Louisiana Board of Pharmacy (BoP)
The Louisiana Board of Pharmacy previously regulated therapeutic marijuana pharmacies, but effective January 1, 2025, those facilities were renamed as medical marijuana dispensaries and transferred to LDH oversight. The Board still provides clinician guidance tied to Schedule I authorization for authorized clinicians.
